Qi stands for energy, and gong, regulation or cultivation of that energy. Therefore, the practice of qigong is the regulation or the cultivation of energy within the human body. This can be done by using ancient breathing and moving techniques that help to move energy throughout the body. Regular Qigong practice can help to restore balance of all energies within the human body. It is considered a moving meditation like Tai Chi, a closely related art form.
